Yes. We run a 24 hour rota that covers evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Call and you get a real arrival window before anyone sets off, not a vague promise.

I run a holiday let near the seafront. Can you attend while guests are in, and will you deal with them directly?

We attend occupied lets regularly. Give us the access details and a contact number for your guests and we'll liaise with them on arrival, make the fault safe, and report back to you with what we found and what it needs. If a full repair can't happen during the stay we'll restore what can safely be restored, so a tripped board doesn't cost you a booking review.

Our RCD trips every time it rains hard. Is that the damp or the electrics?

Usually both. Moisture getting into an outside socket, garden supply or a junction under the floor lowers insulation resistance, and the RCD does exactly what it should by tripping. Homes near the Arun and on the seafront see this more than most because there's simply more water and salt in the environment. We test each circuit to find the one leaking current, isolate it so the rest of the house stays on, then fix or replace the wet accessory properly rather than just resetting the board.

Do you cover the commercial units around the wharf and River Road, including three-phase supplies?

Three-phase work is part of what we do, and the light industrial units along the river are inside our normal cover. Lost phases, tripped distribution boards, machinery isolators and damaged submains are all fair game for an emergency visit. Out of hours we'll prioritise making the installation safe and getting essential circuits back on, then agree any larger repair for normal working hours if that suits the business better.

No power when we woke up

Two things usually do this overnight. Either the supply into the property failed while you slept, or an appliance on a timer faulted mid-cycle, and where one residual device covers everything that removes the lot. We establish which before anything is opened up.

No power in the extension

Extensions are fed all sorts of ways: a spur from an existing ring, a small sub-board, or a cable picked up inside the old wall. The junction is nearly always the weak point. Finding where new work meets old is most of the diagnosis; the rest is a proper connection.

Hallway sockets have gone dead

Dead sockets with nothing operated means the circuit has opened rather than faulted. A screw backing off behind a faceplate, or a conductor broken in a back box, stops everything downstream. Continuity tests at the board narrow it to one leg, then we work along the accessories.

Consumer unit tripped and won't reset

A device refusing to hold is telling you the fault has not gone anywhere. Something remains shorted or leaking, and the protection is behaving exactly as designed. Ways come off until the board stays up, and whichever one drops it gets tested properly.

One small switch keeps tripping

That switch is a miniature circuit breaker, and it answers to two things only: more current than its rating, or a short. So we measure what the circuit actually draws, then insulation test it for damage. Kitchen and heating loads are the usual reason one sits near its limit.

Outside socket trips the RCD

Outdoor accessories on the coast take a beating, and damp works past tired seals and glands. Once moisture gives current a path to earth the device operates, typically after rain. We test the outdoor way on its own and replace whatever has stopped sealing.

Most jobs end with the board back on and the cause dealt with the same visit. If a repair needs parts we're not carrying, you get a safe installation and the rest of the house working.
